野原新之助今年5岁了，他人小鬼大，富于幻想，喜欢别出心裁。他和父亲、母亲、妹妹组成一个幸福的四口之家，他还收养了一条像棉花糖一样的流浪狗——小白。小新的妈妈是一位全职主妇，粗心而又有点神经质的她经常被小新捉弄得七窍生烟，爸爸也经常被这两母子搞得晕头转向。一家人的生活虽然吵吵闹闹，但也不乏温馨感动。小新正在春日部双叶幼儿园上学，这里有他的好朋友风间、妮妮、正男、阿呆，他们每天在幼儿园中有时学习知识，有时愉快地玩耍。对所有事情都充满好奇心的他们，经常做出各种出人意料、又令人啼笑皆非的举动，让老师和园长都头疼不已。小新就在这样开开心心的日子里不断成长着。

　　American Dad! is an American animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman for the Fox Broadcasting Company.
